13. Green Day – Revolution Radio (2016)

Run time: 44 mins

Run day – Tuesday 20th February, 2024.

This was a hard run and it was my fault because the previous Saturday I was very silly and pushed myself during the parkrun. Sure, I shaved a good few mins off my recent 5km PB, but at what cost?! My left shin immediately let me know that it was not happy, and it has been playing up the whole week since. Pity me, but also, I know this is my own fault.

I’m certainly developing a new appreciation for how my body operates and what it needs, and I’m quickly realising that there is a fine line between excerise giving me energy, and excercise draining my energy. This run was a drain! On top of that, I wasn’t a huge fan of the album, but it wasn’t terrible, and on the whole, I could still come out of listening to it with at least one thing that I liked about it. I am enjoying that part, the “intentional” hopeful positivity. It has been a nice side effect, and hopefully an attitude that can slowly seep across into other aspects of my life. There is a huge distinction between “toxic positivity” (forcing positive mindsets regardless of the situation) and being a bit more of a hopeful pesimist, which I seem to have become.

Back to the album, my favourite track was Bouncing off the Wall. It’s fun and punky but also a little Brit-pop-y which I didn’t hate. Two more albums left and that’s Green Day done!
