This is a backdated post because I started the project in January before I decided to start this blog.
Since listening to this album on the 4th of this month, I have woken up with the titular track Warning in my head every morning. Such an earworm. Do you wake up with songs in your head? Sometimes I wake up because whatever song is playing in my dream while I’m sleeping gets so loud as if someone is turning up a volume dial on the side of my head. Wild!
I don’t love this album but that’s actually been my favourite part about this project so far, because I find myself listening with the intention to pick something that I like, and to be honest, I wouldn’t have done that before. It’s like this attitude switch has actually made me more positive overall, because that’s the object – I have to find at least one thing.
I found my one thing, and it’s Misery, and I actually really enjoyed that song. I loved the eerie organ intro and I’m a big fan of the Balkan-folk overtones – I love it when Green Day plays around with them. I liked Macy’s Day Parade too, but Misery is defintely my tune of the album.
American Idiot next, and I’m nearly up to date! Thank you for playing along if you’ve been following these posts so far. I think these will be more interesting to read (hopefully!) once I’m on track and writing straight after my runs, because then I’ll be able to speak more to the run outself and what was on my mind.
